Pavlovsky District borders Volodarsky District, Bogorodsky District, Sosnovskiy District, and Vachsky District Districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, as well as Vladimir Region.
The territory of Pavlovsky District contains three towns: Pavlovo, Vorsma, and Gorbatov. Pavlovo is the administrative center of the district.
Industry
Pavlovo and Pavlovsky District form an important center of machine building and metalworking, serving as the hub of the Pavlovo–Sosnovsky–Vachsky metalworking cluster. The majority of the district's output is supplied to the national Russian market, with approximately 15 % exported to other countries. Five enterprises in the district are listed in the register of core enterprises of the leading industrial sectors of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The district's natural and climatic conditions provide favorable prerequisites for the development of dairy and meat production, as well as the production of fodder crops, grain, and potatoes.
The town of Pavlovo has gained renown for cultivating indoor lemon trees, which have since spread far beyond the town's borders.
Culture and Sport
The town of Pavlovo and Pavlovsky District offer a fairly broad range of historical, cultural, and natural attractions.
The principal site for educational tourism in the district is the Pavlovo History Museum, housed in the former estate of the merchant V. I. Gomulin — one of the finest buildings in the Region from the second half of the 19th century — and dedicated to the history of the Pavlovo steel-and-locksmithing trades, which earned fame throughout Russia.
Physical culture and sport activities in the district are carried out by 54 clubs, 13 of which operate in rural areas. The district has 20 enterprise fitness and wellness centers and 91 sports facilities, including: - 6 stadiums - 2 sports halls - 46 gymnasiums - 1 swimming pool - 2 ski bases - 3 shooting ranges
