Ilicha Avenue is a street in Avtozavodsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, running through the historically established Sotsgorod — a residential district built in the 1930s simultaneously with the Gorky Automobile Plant. The name honors Vladimir Ilyich Lenin; the article about him notes that Nizhny Novgorod residents immortalized the leader's name in Lenin Avenue, as well as Lenin Square and Ulyanovykh Street.[2]

The avenue intersects with a number of streets in Avtozavodsky District: Poyushcheva Street begins at Lenin Avenue, crosses Ilicha Avenue, Kirov Street, and Komsomolskaya Street, and ends where it transitions into Motorny Lane. History and Infrastructure
In 1933, Hospital No. 1 received its own dedicated building on Ilicha Avenue, becoming a multi-specialty facility at that time: departments of internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, and pediatrics were established there, along with maternity beds. At the same time, the central district polyclinic relocated to the new building.[1]
