Andrey (Georgievich) Golovinsky (born February 2, 1961) is a prominent Nizhny Novgorod natural philosopher, manufacturing businessman, and scholar. Creator of the concept of "Intelligentism" — a philosophical theory explaining the leading role of the intelligentsia in information and post-information societies.
Biography
Born in Ust-Kamenogorsk (Eastern Kazakhstan).
In 1982, he graduated with honors from Lobachevsky University with a specialization in metal physics. He worked as an engineer in the Department of Physical Materials Science, then enrolled in postgraduate studies at Gorky State University. His postgraduate work resulted in more than a dozen inventions confirmed by the relevant certificates, several dozen academic publications, and a candidate's dissertation on the topic of "diagnostics of thermal protection for spacecraft."
In 1989, he established an independent laboratory for monitoring the reliability of metal structures and equipment.
In 2001, he founded the company Zashchita Metallov ("Metal Protection"), which to this day carries out anti-corrosion protection of structural and industrial equipment on an industrial scale.
Philosophical Activity
Golovinsky's interest in philosophy first emerged during his preparation for the kandidat minimum examinations, which led him to the Universum (Philosophy Club)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))", which has been operating for more than 40 years under the leadership of Lev Alexandrovich Zelenov. Through numerous debates and discussions known as "brainstorming sessions," the club gave birth to many practically useful ideas, which were subsequently published, and some even implemented.
During his time in the club, Andrey Golovinsky became the author of numerous publications, among which the most substantial is the brochure "The Meaning of Life?.. It's So Simple," in which he sets forth a new perspective on understanding human existence. Also noteworthy is the article "The Lost Formation," published in 1999 in the Universum (Philosophy Club) collection "The Intelligentsia in the 21st Century," which became the basis for the present material, being offered here for the first time to a wide readership.
It should be noted, incidentally, that in the same year, at the initiative of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, this material was presented to the then Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, V.V. Putin]]. He not only agreed with and endorsed the questions raised in the material, but even directed the Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation to hold a public discussion of it and assess the extent to which the author was correct in his judgments about the fate of the contemporary Russian intelligentsia.
"But," as the author laments, "it is quite obvious that the subsequent appointment of M. Shvydkoy naturally buried any interest in the problem of the intelligentsia"; nonetheless, we hope that today's effort by the author together with our editorial team will prove more successful and will attract particular attention from the still not entirely 'lost intelligentsia' of contemporary Russia.
