Vaneev Street (formerly 8th–9th Lines; Opernaya, Vologodskaya, Estonskaya) — a major thoroughfare in the Upper Town of Nizhny Novgorod, running from Freedom Square toward the Nagorny microdistricts and crossing Sovetskaya Square.

Who was Vaneev
Anatoly Vaneev (1872–1899) — a Nizhny Novgorod residents, one of the first social democrats, a member of the St. Petersburg "Union of Struggle for the Emancipation of the Working Class," and a close comrade of Lenin. He served his exile together with Lenin in the village of Yermakovsky, not far from Shushenskoye. He died in Siberia of tuberculosis.
