Timiryazeva Street (formerly "Lines 20–21") — an old street on the boundary of the Historic Buildings of Nizhny Novgorod, belonging to Sovetsky District.
It runs from Lyadov Square in the direction of Vaneev Street. The buildings at the beginning of the street (at the intersection with Pushkina Street) consist of small private houses, partly of nine-storey Soviet-era panel apartment blocks, and more recently of several mixed-use office and residential buildings near Pushkina Park.
The street is named after the botanist Timiryazev.
Kliment Arkadyevich Timiryazev (1843–1920) — a Darwinist naturalist, plant physiologist, popularizer and advocate of scientific knowledge, and corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences.
