Vadim Vasilyevich Voronkov (b. 31 October 1925) — professor of the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Honoured Architect of the RSFSR. From 1961 to 1986 – head of the Main Architectural and Planning Directorate of the Gorky city executive committee (gorispolkom), chief architect of the city. Laureate of the prize of the USSR Council of Ministers and of the prize of the city of Nizhny Novgorod. Honorary member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences. Was elected a deputy of the city Soviet of People's Deputies for several convocations.

The title «Honorary Citizen of the City of Nizhny Novgorod» was conferred by resolution No. 31 of the City Duma of the city of Nizhny Novgorod of 19 June 2001.
