Myza Station — halt Gagarin Avenue — a railway station on the Gorky Railway, located within the city limits of Nizhny Novgorod, in (Prioksky District), the terminal point of train services on the Myza branch line.
Myza Station is the dead end of the former Romodanovo–Kazansky (Romodanovsky) Railway Station line. Later, an additional track section approximately one kilometer long was built, ending at the Gagarin Avenue halt, next to a bus stop and the Myza tram loop on Gagarin Avenue. Despite the timetable showing elektrichki (commuter trains) running to Myza Station, in practice they travel only as far as the halt.
The station serves several pairs of električki on the Arzamas route: to Zeletsino station (Kstovsky District) and to Arzamas-2 station.
In the 1930s, the station's spur tracks had a "gate" connection with the city's tram network; railway wagons were delivered to customers along the Myza tram line (route No. 5, still in operation today) using special rolling stock operated by the Gorky tram authority. Spur tracks also branched off from Myza Station to the Lenin Plant, one of which crossed Arzamasskoe Highway (now Gagarin Avenue); to the Keramik plant; and to a meatpacking facility in the Cherepichny settlement. After the end of the Great Patriotic War the gate connection was dismantled, and by the early 21st century the spur tracks to the district's industrial enterprises had fallen into disrepair due to prolonged disuse. In 2006 the rails at the crossing with Gagarin Avenue were removed, although part of the track remained on the premises of JSC NITEL and the forecourt in front of its entrance gates (the successor to the Lenin Plant).
Prior to the electrification of the Myza route (1994), passenger services were operated by D1 diesel multiple units.
Station closure
On 3 May 2007, the management of the Gorky Railway announced the cancellation of these električki due to their unprofitability. However, regular passengers organized a protest action during which they blocked traffic on Gagarin Avenue for half an hour. As a result of this action, the električki were reinstated in the timetable.
