Dalnekonstantinovsky District is located on the right bank of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. It borders Bogorodsky District, Kstovsky District, Bolshemurashkinskiy District, Perevozsky District, Vadskiy District, Arzamassky District, and Sosnovskiy District Districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Dalnekonstantinovsky District was established in 1929.
Industry
Industry in the district is represented by such sectors as timber processing and woodworking, defense production, dairy production, livestock farming, and agriculture.
Points of Interest
- The Dalnekonstantinovsky Local History Museum, which displays unique wooden handicrafts by the celebrated craftsman A.S. Lyamkov, who has been compared to the legendary Lefty;
- In the village of Belaya there is a monument to A.P. Chekhov, who visited Dalnekonstantinovsky District on several occasions;
- Dalnekonstantinovsky District is the birthplace of the well-known writer Nikolai Ivanovich Kochin. Every five years the district holds "Kochin Days." In 2002, the writer's centenary was celebrated;
- The district is home to natural, historical, and architectural monuments. In Dalnekonstantinovsky District, 13 historical and cultural monuments are under state protection. One of them holds federal status — the Sarley burial ground near the selo of Sarley. The district also has several Orthodox churches that are architectural monuments of the 18th–19th centuries: the Kazan Church in the selo of Rumyantsevo, the Epiphany Church in the selo of Bogoyavleniye, the Pokrovskaya Church in the selo of Borisovo-Pokrovskoye, the Trinity Church in the selo of Staroye Pole, and others.
