Varvarskaya Street (Varvarka, Figner) — one of the central streets of the Historic Center of Nizhny Novgorod. It connects Minin Square with Freedom Square. It is located in Nizhegorodsky District. In the middle of the street lies Oktyabrskaya Square.
Interesting Facts
- One of the most youth-oriented streets in Nizhny Novgorod — it is home to Lyceum No. 40, and every day students from the Medical Academy, the Pedagogical Institute, Lobachevsky University, and the Water Transport Institute make their way along it between Minin Square and Freedom Square and back.
- On City Day and other major holidays, Varvarskaya becomes a pedestrian street.
