Uzola — a small river in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, a left tributary of the Volga. Length 147 km, basin area 1,920 km².
Its source is near the village of Romanovo; it flows into the Volga above the town of Balakhna. The banks of the river are mostly forest. The valley is up to 3 km wide with gentle slopes; the floodplain, up to 800 m - meadows, shrubs, in the upper reaches - marshes. The width of the Uzola is 10 - 30 m, the depth up to 1.5 m. The urban-type settlement of Kovernino.
The source of the Uzola is 5 km north of the village of Romanova, Komerinsky District; the mouth is opposite the town of Balakhna.
The river is used for timber floating. The bed in the upper reaches is silty and peaty, further down sandy, and on the shallows sandy and gravelly.
The width of the river in the upper course is 5—10 m, in the lower course 20—30 m; the depth at the shallows 0.1—0.4, at the reaches 0.8—1.5 m; the current speed 0.2—1 m/sec.
