Turnava, Gramiton Varfolomeevich (1912–1985) — personal pensioner of republican significance, Honored Builder of the RSFSR. Working within the Mostotrest system, he rose from foreman to head of a major bridge-construction organization, serving as chief of Bridge Unit No. 1 from 1967 to 1981. He participated in the construction of the Mizinsky Bridge, the Borsky Bridge in The City of Gorky across the Volga River, and the reconstruction of the Kanavinsky Bridge.
Achievements
Awarded the Orders of Lenin, the Red Banner of Labour, and the October Revolution, as well as various medals.
The title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Gorky" was conferred by resolution of the Gorky City Council of People's Deputies on 29 September 1982.
