Church of St Michael the Archangel

The main landmark of the village is the church dedicated to the Archangel Michael, consecrated in 1912. Its builder and first rector was the priest Ioann Flerov, later canonised as a hieromartyr. At the consecration of the church Father Ioann said: "My church will stand for a long time." The prediction came true: the building survived both destruction and desecration in the Soviet years.

As early as September 1918 Father Ioann Flerov was accused of organising an uprising in Bykovka and arrested. Beside the church there is a holy spring dedicated to the healers Cosmas and Damian.
