Devyatykh Grigory Grigoryevich (1918–2005) — Director of the Institute of High-Purity Substances of the Russian Academy of Sciences, full member (academician) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and chairman of the board of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Organization of the Znaniye Society. He was elected as a deputy to the Gorky Regional Soviet of People's Deputies for several terms. Hero of Socialist Labor. Lenin Prize laureate.
Achievements
Awarded two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the October Revolution, the Order of Friendship of Peoples, and various medals.
The title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Nizhny Novgorod" was conferred by resolution of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod on June 27, 1997, No. 21.
