Gorky Street (formerly Polevaya) — one of the longest historic streets Nizhny Novgorod. It starts at Slope, places of residence Nizhny Novgorod Woodpecker, and after Gorky Square and Freedom Square leads to Belinsky Street, in the area of The Kovalikha River.
The History of the Street
Large-scale development began here around 1830–1850.
In the early 20th century, the street was on the outskirts of the city. Napolnaya Street extended beyond it. Polevaya Street was renamed Gorky Street in 1958.
