Rowing Channel

Rowing Channel (colloquially "Grebnoy") — an artificial channel 3-4 km long along the bank of the Volga, created by building a dam between the shore and the island of "Pecherskiye Peski".

It was used for rowing practice, which is where its name comes from.

Numerous springs flow into the channel.
