Ivnev Pyotr Vasilyevich (November 18, 1924, selo Uvarovo, now Borisoglebsky District of Voronezh Region — August 31, 2010, Nizhny Novgorod) — a Soviet journalist and editor who worked at leading periodicals and a book publishing house in Gorky Region during the 1950s–1980s. Birth surname: Nekhoroshev.[2]
Biography
A veteran of the The Great Patriotic War.[2] In 1953 he graduated from the All-Union Correspondence Law Institute.[2]
From 1952 he worked as a staff writer and head of the Komsomol section at the newspaper Sovetskaya Molodezh (Soviet Youth) in Riga.[2] In 1959 he moved to the position of deputy editor of the Gorky newspaper Leninskaya Smena (newspaper).[2]
From 1965 he served as the Gorky Region correspondent for the newspaper Izvestia.[2] In 1967 he became head of the Volgo-Vyatka Book Publishing House, serving simultaneously as its editor-in-chief and director.[2] From 1970 he was editor of the newspaper Gorkovskiy Rabochiy.[2] From 1974 to 1984 he led the newspaper Volzhskaya Magistral.[2]
He lived in Nizhny Novgorod and is buried at the The Cemetery in Fedyakovo.[2]
Books and Awards
He authored several books: Zheleznye arterii strany (Iron Arteries of the Country, 1987), Sputnik rybolova-lyubitelya (The Amateur Fisherman's Companion, 1993), and S kryuchkom, mormyshkoy i blesnoj (With Hook, Jig, and Lure, 1995).[2] He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class (April 6, 1985).[2]
