Ages near the selo of Polyanka (Republic of Mordovia).
It is situated on a promontory formed by two ravines.
On the landward side there are two defensive earthworks 1.8–2 m high and ditches. The length of the platform is 75 m, the width up to 35 m.
The name ("Purgaz'on' oshpando") is apparently connected with the name of Purgaz.
It is mentioned in 17th-century documents (1628, 1630): "…from the Purgasovo Gorodishche along the Arge ravine…" (Arge ravine = Orgodema latko?)
