Piskunova Street (formerly Malaya Pecherskaya and Osypnaya, MOPR Street) — runs from Zelensky Descent to the Verkhne-Volzhskaya Embankment.
It was laid out at the end of the 18th century on the site of the Small Ostrog of the Upper Posad. Under the 1770 plan it was designed to be three times wider than the main streets. Under the general street-surveying plan of 1787 its width was equalized with that of other streets. At the same time, the earthen ramparts of the ancient fortifications were partially preserved, which is why the street was called Osyp' (Osypnaya, meaning "the embankment").
It is named after the revolutionary terrorist Piskunov Aleksandr Ivanovich (1870–1924).
