The page carried a historical note: the university traces its history to 23 June 1930, when, in Gorky, an independent civil engineering institute was split off from the construction faculty of Gorky State University, later transformed into NNGASU[3]. The same page carried news of the death, on 20 October 2005, of the university's rector, academician of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and honorary citizen of Nizhny Novgorod Valentin Vasilyevich Naidenko, with a detailed biographical account of his path from assistant to rector and of the institution's elevation to academy status in 1992 and to university status in 1997[3]. The site's news section recorded current events: student council elections, "Freshman Day," and enrollment for the preparatory division of the continuing-education faculty (RABFAK)[3]. The copyright line at the bottom of the page named the "Laboratory of Parallel Computing Systems" as the holder, along with a "Webmaster" section[3].
