Nizhegorodskaya Gvardiya — a special purpose Militia (police))))))))))))))))))))))))))) unit (OMON) of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Founded on April 6, 1993; the name "Nizhegorodskaya Gvardiya" was assigned to the unit on July 20, 1993. Over 17 years of the unit's existence, more than 2,500 criminals have been detained on the territory of Nizhny Novgorod Region, and more than 550 explosive devices have been neutralized. In addition, OMON fighters were deployed on 42 service missions to the North Caucasus, where 31 officers were wounded, 112 sustained concussions of varying severity, and 6 were killed.
