Nizhny Novgorod astrologers

Nizhny Novgorod Astrological Society (NAO) — a regional public organization uniting professional practicing and teaching astrologers of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The NAO's consultation service is staffed by astrologers with more than a decade of consulting experience.

Nature of the phenomenon

The first and only legal astrological organization in the entire history of Nizhny Novgorod.

Useful activities

Anyone with an interest in astrology and/or a desire to use the services provided by the NAO (training courses, individual consultations, specialized literature, etc.) is welcome to take part in the NAO's work.

Within the framework of the NAO's "Club of Astrology and Philosophy Enthusiasts," several educational programs are being developed, and educational and developmental work is carried out annually (a beginners' course and an advanced course).

Since 2008, the NAO has opened a tarology program. It is based on the school "Path of Tarot," organized and taught by Anton Yevdokimov and Melissa Omens.

History

Account by the Nizhny Novgorod Super-Astrologer

The history of the Nizhny Novgorod Astrological Society traces its origins to October 2002, when circumstances brought astrologers from Nizhny Novgorod together at the Nizhny Novgorod exhibition-fair "Path to Oneself" for a spontaneous, informal conversation. This event marked the beginning of regular gatherings of Nizhny Novgorod astrologers, which took place throughout 2002–2003. The meetings were held in the form of educational seminars and lectures, as well as business discussions, informal get-togethers, and tea parties.

In the course of this preparatory work, the goals and objectives of establishing the Nizhny Novgorod Astrological Society were formulated, its core operating principles and the process of state registration were worked out, and the NAO was granted the official legal status of a "Regional Public Organization."

I'll tell you how it all happened. After one of the seminars that were taking place at the Nizhny Novgorod Polytechnic Institute at the time, Sergey Levitsky and I were discussing how Nizhny Novgorod needed its own astrological association — to unite astrologers, represent Nizhny Novgorod astrology (including on the international stage), and protect the field from charlatanism. After I got home, I managed in the course of a single night to come up with the general structure and concept of the NAO — and, incidentally, the name "Nizhny Novgorod Astrological Society" as well. The next day I called Sergey Levitsky and we met at his apartment, where I laid out everything that had come to me overnight. Then Valeriy Balaydin and Sergey Yermilov joined us. We sat down and began writing the NAO's Charter. And that's how it all came together.

Interesting facts

  • The NAO began its work in the premises of the former esoteric center "Know Thyself."
  • Since 2014, the NAO's office has been located in one of the historic buildings on Rozhdestvenskaya Street.
  • The NAO actively maintains contacts with various specialist astrologers across Russia. Denis Kutalev and Konstantin Arev have visited the NAO to give seminars.
  • The NAO counts among its assets Anton Grigoryev, a leading specialist in classical medieval astrology, and Anton Yevdokimov — the only specialist in harmonic astrology in Russia, who, among other things, is a popularizer of the so-called Hamburg School of Astrology, just as Konstantin Arev is in Moscow. It is rather remarkable that both astrologers — the specialist in "the astrology of the past" and the specialist in "the astrology of the future" — share the same first name. They are both Antons.
  • The NAO maintains close contacts with foreign specialists. One such contact is Melissa Omens — a native of Nizhny Novgorod who emigrated to Australia, a specialist in Tarot and Wicca, and in the ritual magic of the modern era.
  • As part of its educational programs, the NAO has since 2015 revived regular free Sunday seminars for those interested in astrology, philosophy, history, astronomy, and other related disciplines.
  • An annual open outdoor summer astrological seminar is held on the anniversary of the NAO's registration.
