f1group.ru is the website of the Nizhny Novgorod company "F1-Group," which was engaged in auditing, organizational consulting, and personnel recruitment. The Nizhny Novgorod connection is right on the front page: the February 5, 2003 snapshot shows the header listing the address "603115, Russia, Nizhny Novgorod, Tverskaya St., 20, office 5," a phone/fax number (8312) 333-550 and a second phone number 778-520, with a "directions" link alongside[1]. The site is known from web-archive snapshots of the early 2000s; the domain name later passed to the Perm-based "F1 Group of Enterprises," and no Nizhny Novgorod content remains on it[5].

What the site looked like

The 2003 home page was laid out like an ordinary corporate site of its time: a decorative header reading "::::: F1-Group :::::," a contact block with the address and phone numbers beneath it, and at the bottom a row of sections: "home | about the company | services | news | forum | vacancies," with "clients" as a separate item[1]. The site was thus not a single-page showcase but a platform with a news feed, a forum, and a vacancies section.

The center of the page was taken up by a dated entry from 02.06.2003 under a heading not found on its neighbors in the catalog: "The General Director's Latest Aphorism." The snapshot gives this aphorism: "If it's rustling in someone else's pocket and not yours, that's not a reason to be upset, but a reason to act!"[1] Alongside it ran a visitor poll — as the home page put it, "Which of F1-Group's services interest you?" with options "auditing," "org. diagnostics," "personnel certification," "recruiting," "sociological research"; next to it stood the links "Ask your question on the forum" and "All polls"[1].

What the company did

The range of services is described in the most detail in the nn.ru catalog listing, from which the domain made its way into our compendium of Nizhny Novgorod sites via archived snapshots: "Information support for management decisions: audit control over property management, tax consulting, management accounting, express audit, organizational diagnostics, personnel recruitment and certification, monitoring, sociological research"[2]. In other words, the company combined two lines of business — financial and management (audit, taxes, accounting) and personnel/research (recruitment and certification of staff, sociological surveys).

Accordingly, the site was listed in the catalog under several categories at once: "Firms (Enterprises): Various Services: Attestation and Certification" (the category name follows the catalog's own spelling)[2], "Recruitment agencies"[3] and "Information and recruitment agencies, services"[4].

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

The site was connected to the city counter Counter.nn.ru under number 10603, and the catalog printed the current reading next to its name[2]. Surviving catalog snapshots show how the reading changed over the course of 2003: "Rating: 116" on May 19[3], "Rating: 145" on May 29[2], and "Rating: 107" on August 26[4]. These are modest figures for the Nizhny Novgorod Internet of the time, but they mean the site was alive and visited, not sitting as a dead entry in the catalog; more on what lies behind these numbers is in the Archival study of the Nizhny Novgorod internet from the counter.nn.ru rating.

In the published results of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day 2004 vote, neither the domain f1group.ru nor the company's name appears[8]. A professional site for an audit-and-personnel firm was not built for a mass vote in the first place: its audience was not visitors to the city portal, but company executives.

Fate of the address

When checked in August 2026, the site at this address responded. The Nizhny Novgorod content disappeared from this address even earlier, but the domain went on living with other owners. Already in the May 26, 2013 snapshot, the address f1group.ru hosts the site of the "F1 Group of Enterprises," marked "© 2010" in the footer, and the whole thing is Perm-based: contacts "Perm. Phone/fax: +7 (342) 2-200-103, E-mail: office@f1group.ru," a news item dated May 24, 2013 about seminars on "Reporting via the Internet, changes in legislation" held by the Federal Tax Service Administration for Perm Krai, with the venue "Perm, Shcherbakova St., 35, room 101," as well as sections on "ConsultantPlus," "Glavnaya Kniga," "Electronic document exchange with government agencies," DIRECTUM, and Business Studio[5]. Neither the Nizhny Novgorod address nor the phone numbers with the 8312 code remain on the page.

The address stays the same further on: in the January 1, 2026 snapshot it is "F1 Perm SBIS | Digital Signature and Cash Registers" — a service for electronic reporting, document workflow, and online cash registers, with the phone number +7 (342) 206-80-14[6]. In total, about eighty captures of the address have accumulated in the web archive: the first dated February 5, 2003, the latest May 13, 2026[7]. Whether the Perm-based "F1" continues the Nizhny Novgorod firm or is simply a different owner of a matching name, the archived snapshots do not say; all that survives of the domain's Nizhny Novgorod past is the 2003 home page with the address on Tverskaya Street and the general director's aphorism.
