Barrikad Street (formerly Aleksandro-Nevskaya, then Barrikadnaya) was founded about a century ago. The street is home to The Lenin Monument in Sormovo. Barrikad Street is named in honor of the uprising during the Revolution of 1905. It is a cultural and historical landmark of Sormovo District. Currently, active construction of multi-story residential buildings is underway along Barrikad Street. It runs perpendicular to Kominterna Street.
