The director of the Nizhny Novgorod Atomenergoproject institute was Valeriy Igorevich Limarenko (born 1960), who had previously served as Deputy Governor for Housing, Utilities, and Construction and holds a doctorate in economics. The institute's technical director was Yuri Alekseevich Ivanov (born February 21, 1953), a graduate of the Gorky Polytechnic Institute (1976) with a degree in engineering physics and an active participant in the development of advanced nuclear power plant projects.
