Yuri Ivanovich Pridanov — a Nizhny Novgorod painter. He worked in the genre of figurative painting.

Biography

Born in City of Gorky on November 15, 1938. He passed away on September 30, 2009.

He graduated from the State Art School (GKhU, 1958–1963) and the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK, 1964–1969).

From 1964 he was a regular participant in regional exhibitions. He exhibited at zonal exhibitions ("Bolshaya Volga," 1970, 1974, 1985, 2003), republican exhibitions (Moscow, 1970, 1979), the all-union exhibition "Watercolor-1975," and an all-Russian exhibition (Moscow, 2000).

Laureate of the Prize of Nizhny Novgorod (1994). For his contributions to the visual arts, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 2006. Professional Union of Artists of Russia since 1970.

Solo exhibitions: Nizhny Novgorod, 1988, 1998, 2001, 2009. Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Union of Artists of Russia (1992–1994). Taught at the State Art School (1965–1975). Taught at a children's studio at the Center for Supplementary Education from 1998.

His paintings are held in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
