The valley was named so by Nizhny Novgorod residents for its remarkably desolate, out-of-the-way character — practically in the city center (you understand: scream all you want, no one will hear you...). Walking through the valley from Petrovsky Plant to the start of Agronomicheskaya Street takes about an hour in dry weather.
