triz.narod.ru — the website of the Nizhny Novgorod advertising and souvenir products center "TRIZ": printing, silkscreen printing, souvenirs, and bags with corporate branding. A third-level address in the narod.ru zone, the firm has been listed in Nizhny Novgorod directories since 2000: on September 30, 2000, its entry appeared in the Counter.nn.ru statistics under the "Firms (Enterprises)" category[1], and the nn.ru directory — a "catalog of Nizhny Novgorod websites" — kept it in the "Firms (Enterprises): Advertising" section with status "Working" and check date 12/04/2000[3]. The surviving snapshots of the homepage date only to 2022 and show only a page about the relocation[7].

What the TRIZ center offered

No description of services by the firm itself survives in the preserved homepage snapshots, but directory listings for the firm have survived in three different lists, and, compiled at different times, they give differing snapshots. In the counter statistics, the firm is recorded as "Center for Advertising and Souvenir Products 'TRIZ'" with the explanation "Advertising and printing products. Souvenirs. Silkscreen printing. PC training"[1]. In the nn.ru directory the same firm was listed more briefly — "Center 'TRIZ'", "Advertising and printing products. Silkscreen printing. Bags with corporate branding"[3]. A third wording reads "Business cards, printing, advertising on products"[4].

The firm also changed its name on the page itself: its heading in 2022 read "Center for Souvenir and Printing Products 'TRIZ'", while in the text it called itself an advertising agency[7]. Neither address, nor phone number, nor visit counters appear in the surviving homepage snapshots — all the surviving factual material about the firm comes from directories.

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

In the counter.nn.ru statistics snapshot from September 30, 2000, "TRIZ" occupied the 111th line of the "Firms (Enterprises)" category: in the "Counter" column — 192, in the "Rating" column — 1.52, in the "Hits" column — zero (in this snapshot zero appeared in every line in a row)[1]. In the nn.ru directory as of May 30, 2001, "Center 'TRIZ'" occupied the fifth line of the "Firms (Enterprises): Advertising" section with a rating of 1.52 — after the companies "NN.RU" (48.74), "Realplast" (7.00), "Delovoye Povolzhye" (3.00), and the firm "AREY" (2.35)[3]. By April 25, 2002, in the "Printing, business cards, souvenirs" subsection, two entries already pointed to the same address triz.narod.ru — "Center TriZ" and "Center 'TRIZ'", both with a rating of 3.94, sixth and seventh positions on the list; above them stood "SolidArt" (88.44), "Nizhegorodskaya Poligrafiya" (20.18), OAO "Promis" (12.91), and "POLYPRINT" (5.18)[4].

Another listing was in the "Projects: About Advertising" section: on June 20, 2002 — sixth line out of fourteen with a rating of 13, between the site "Advertising Business. Who? Where? How Much?" (16) and the agency "AREY" (9)[5]; in the snapshot from July 25 of the same year "TRIZ" already had 16[6]. This is the upper half of the niche, but not the top positions: there were many advertising and printing sites in the Nizhny Novgorod Internet at that time, and "TRIZ" held its place in the middle of the pack. In the surviving results table for the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day vote of 2004, neither the domain nor the center's name appears[9].

Relocation and the final snapshots

All the homepage snapshots that survive in our sample were taken in 2022 — March 30, April 1, July 6, and October 5 — and are completely identical: there is no longer any substantive page there, only a notice. As the homepage stated, "The website of the 'Triz' Advertising Agency has moved to a new location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (spelling as in the original), and below: "New address www. triz nn.ru" — the address was typed with spaces[7]. The page promised to redirect the visitor automatically: "if the new page does not open after five seconds, click here"[8].

Exactly when the relocation happened is not shown by the snapshots: the placeholder page stood at the old address for an unknown number of years and looks identical across all four copies from 2022[7][8]. The last homepage snapshots in the web archive are dated October 2022[8]. Thus, of the website of the Nizhny Novgorod "TRIZ" center, three directory entries from the early 2000s remain, along with a farewell line about the move to the nn.ru zone.
