Stepan Razin Street is located in Sormovo District. It runs parallel to Kultury Street.

The street is most likely now called Pugachev Street.

Stepan Timofeyevich Razin (d. 1671) was a Don Cossack who led the largest anti-feudal uprising of peasants and Cossacks in Russia in 1670–1671. In spite of all his charisma, he also squandered — or rather, personally did away with — his woman (that is, the princess), egged on by his drinking companions. Since 2008, a dedicated lane for челнов (shuttle traders) has been marked out on the street.
