Statement

The Nizhny Novgorod Encyclopedia principles in brief, for contributors:

1. The Nizhny Novgorod Encyclopedia — covering people, places, phenomena, and more — is a wiki-based encyclopedia: freely distributed, edited, and created by its readers.

2. Unlike Wikipedia, the Nizhny Novgorod Encyclopedia may contain information and articles on any Nizhny Novgorod subject, no matter how minor. Moreover, academic tone, neutrality, and the like are not required.

3. Encyclopedia articles are meant to be useful. Therefore humor, plain language, and a lively human voice are all welcome when they help convey the truth.

4. Different points of view are welcome here — especially well-argued ones.

5. Living, everyday language always takes priority over bureaucratic officialese in the Encyclopedia.
