orgsteclo.ru — domain name of the site of the Dzerzhinsk plant "Orgsteklo", listed in the directory of the Nizhny Novgorod internet nn.ru (section "/rub/") with the description "JSC Orgsteklo (Dzerzhinsk) — the largest company producing and selling acrylic-based products"[1]. Dzerzhinsk, and the plant's site was part of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet of the early 2000s. The earliest recorded snapshot of the domain dates to May 18, 2001, and according to registration records the site existed roughly from 2001 to 2018, after which the address passed to unrelated owners.

What the site looked like

A snapshot from July 23, 2008 preserved the structure of the plant's site: the menu listed the sections "Home", "About JSC 'Dzerzhinskoye Orgsteklo'", "Products of JSC 'Dzerzhinskoye Orgsteklo'", "History of JSC 'Dzerzhinskoye Orgsteklo'" (with the subsections "History of the enterprise's development", "The Soviet period in the history of JSC 'Dzerzhinskoye Orgsteklo'", "JSC 'Dzerzhinskoye Orgsteklo' today", "Current product range", "2006 results of JSC 'Dzerzhinskoye Orgsteklo'"), as well as "Orgsteklo" (acrylic glass), "Processing acrylic glass", "Tips", "Publications", "Contacts" and "Site map"[1]. Judging by the menu structure, the site presented the plant as a manufacturer of acrylic glass with a history reaching back to the Soviet period, and summed up the results of its work for 2006[1]. At the same time, the text block under the "Home" heading in this same snapshot already had nothing to do with the plant's products: as the page reported, it concerned noise-barrier screens and the level of noise pollution in Moscow and St. Petersburg[1] — meaning that already by 2008 the domain hosted, side by side, the plant's own section and unrelated text that had nothing to do with acrylic glass.

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

The site was tracked by the Counter.nn.ru system; in the surviving sample it corresponds to a rating value of 12.65. How the site closed

By January 2016 the domain had been taken over by unrelated content: a snapshot from January 11, 2016 shows a collection of advertising texts about microloans and "payday loans" in various Russian cities — Mezhdurechensk, Makhachkala, Lyubertsy, Losino-Petrovsky and others — unrelated either to the plant or to Nizhny Novgorod Oblast[2]. By January 11, 2018 the page title had changed to "Under construction"[4] — the plant's site was no longer at this address. According to registration records, the domain has been occupied by a parking page since 2023, though it is unclear whether this is the same owner who showed "Under construction" in 2018 — the domain may have changed hands again in the meantime. The last snapshot recorded in the web archive is dated September 20, 2024; its content is unreadable in the archive — binary data was preserved instead of text[3], which confirms that the plant's actual site no longer exists at this address. As of today, according to registration records, the domain is considered available.
