The site was listed in the nn.ru directory (/rub/ section)[2]. The copyright notice on the earliest surviving snapshot points to 2001 as the site's launch date, and the last known web-archive snapshot is dated 2013[1][2].
What the site looked like and what it offered
The 2003 snapshot shows a site typical of a local internet provider from the early 2000s, with a feed of company news. Among the announcements: the opening of ROL (Rossiya-Online) internet-card sales points at the "Traditsiya" shopping center (in the "S-Video" department) and at the "Moskovsky" supermarket, the relocation of card sales to the wine department of the "Nizhegorodsky" supermarket due to store reconstruction, and the launch of a new dedicated internet access service using TelPlus technology — over a regular telephone line without occupying it permanently, at a speed of 115 Kbit/s (60 Kbit/s when the phone handset was lifted)[1]. As the home page reported, "at gaming.sarov.ru... a dedicated gaming server has been launched in test mode" with Quake III Arena and Counter-Strike servers, available to Sarovsvyazinform customers and Sarov's ROL users[1]. The site also reported an increase in the backbone channel's bandwidth to 4 Mbit/s in December 2001 and of Sarov's ROL channel to 2 Mbit/s in July 2002, an increase in the ROL modem pool from 60 to 120, and rates for virtual web-server hosting and for access via Rossiya-Online[1].

No votes for it are recorded in our data, and its rating does not appear in the surviving samples of the Counter.nn.ru counter — this indicates an absence of data in the sample, not zero traffic[2]. How it closed
By 2013 the content at the domain internet.sarov.ru no longer had anything to do with the provider: the last surviving web-archive snapshot shows a page under the heading "Sarov:" with the terms of the photo contest "Why Do People Go to the Campfires?", organized by the Sports and Tourism Union of the city of Sarov together with the city's Children and Youth Center — with submission addresses, organizing-committee phone numbers (83130) 5-43-08 and 52792, and the organizing committee's bank details at Sarovbiznesbank JSCB (Sarov, Silkina St., 13)[2]. At the time the census was compiled, no domain existed at this address[2].
