What the site looked like
The earliest snapshot captures a technical placeholder: the page was built using frames, and its only visible text read — as the home page stated — "Русская поэзия This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them"[2]. In other words, the substantive part of the site — the collections of poems by the poets listed in the directory — was hidden within the frame structure and was not captured in the text preserved by the archiver; it can only be judged from the description in the nn.ru directory[1].
The move from the boom.ru address
By April 2, 2004, only a relocation notice remained at the domain: as the home page stated, "Сайт \"Русская поэзия\" переехал. Новый адрес: www.poetrus.by.ru" ["The 'Russian Poetry' site has moved. New address: www.poetrus.by.ru"][3]. The project's author had thus deliberately left the free boom.ru hosting, leaving only a redirect message for readers at the former address. Under the new address, the project continued its work and made its way into bibliographic reference sources: the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, in a list of links about Musa Jalil, described "Russian Poetry" at poetrus.by.ru as a collection of works by 209 poets and 28,774 poems[6]. The same source noted that the site featured a detailed biography of Musa Jalil and 198 of his poems[6].
Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet
No information about poetrus.boom.ru's standing in the Counter.nn.ru rating appears in the surviving counter samples, nor are there any votes for it in the data of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day — there is no record of this in the census[1]. The only documented connection between the site and the Nizhny Novgorod internet is its inclusion in the nn.ru thematic directory — that is, the site was known to the regional cataloguer but left no trace in the quantitative ratings of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet[1].
How it closed
After the author moved the project to www.poetrus.by.ru, the freed-up domain poetrus.boom.ru was taken over by unrelated content. A snapshot from April 30, 2006, shows a page with the title "We offers c.r.a. mortgage loan rates and no money down home loans" — a set of keywords and text about mortgage loans and student loans in the United States, having nothing to do with poetry[4]. The same type of content persisted in the snapshot from January 10, 2008, which remains the last one reflected in this article for this address[5]. The fate of the poetrus.boom.ru domain after 2008 cannot be traced from the available materials.
