Gusev Pavel Ivanovich (1917–2010) — sculptor, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. People's Artist of the RSFSR, Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR, author of a number of monumental sculptural works: monuments to Ya.M. Sverdlov, A.A. Vaneev, Monument to the Heroes of the Volga Military Flotilla, Valery Chkalov in the city of Chkalovsk.

Awarded the Order of Lenin and medals.
The title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Gorky" was conferred by resolution of the Gorky City Council of People's Deputies on September 29, 1982.
