borey-nn.narod.ru — the website of a Nizhny Novgorod landscaping and grounds-improvement firm, OOO "Borey" (Boreas Ltd.), which ran on the free Narod.Ru hosting service from 2002 to 2022. The site was listed in the Nizhny Novgorod directory nn.ru (section "/rub/") with the description "We will landscape and improve your grounds or indoor premises."[1]

What the site looked like and what it offered

The earliest surviving snapshot, from 2002, shows a simple business-card page with a four-item menu: "Landscaping," "New Year Trees," "Our Capabilities," and "Our Forum." The home page greeted visitors with a welcome: as the home page put it, "We are very glad that you have found your way — by chance or on purpose — into our internet space. We invite you to visit our links, and to ask questions on any matters of interest."[1]

By 2022 the menu structure had expanded: the earlier sections were joined by "Cost of Landscaping Work" and "Cost of Planting Material" — the site had become more precise in laying out the firm's price list. The welcome text had barely changed, but the page now stated: "Powered by uCoz," meaning that by this time the site was being run on the uCoz website builder while keeping its old address on Narod.Ru.[2] No contact phone numbers or office address are recorded in the surviving snapshots.

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

The site's presence in the regional internet space is confirmed by its listing in the Counter.nn.ru directory — an entry in the "/rub/" section of the nn.ru directory, where the firm was represented with a description of its landscaping services.[1] No votes for the site are recorded in the surviving counter samples in our data, and it does not appear in the data of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day — this does not mean zero visitors, only that the corresponding samples were not preserved or that the site did not take part in the measurement.

How it closed

The last known snapshot of the site with preserved text in the web archive is dated March 30, 2022 — at that point the page was still working and described the services of the firm "Borey" in its previous form.[2] No information about the site moving to another domain has survived. After twenty years of existence (2002-2022), the domain is marked as dead in our registry, with no date or circumstances of its final closure recorded beyond the last captured snapshot.
