The Nizhny Novgorod Motor Transport Technical College (NATT) is a state-funded public vocational secondary education institution in Nizhny Novgorod, founded in 1930 to train specialists in the field of road transport.[1] During the Soviet period it was known as the Gorky Motor Transport Technical College. It is located at Nevzorovykh Street, 34.[2] Its official full name is the State Budget Vocational Education Institution "Nizhny Novgorod Motor Transport Technical College" (GBPOU NATT).[2]
History and Activities
The college was founded in 1930 and has been focused from its inception on training specialists for road transport enterprises.[1] Over the course of its existence, the institution has steadily expanded its range of educational programs and updated its instructional and material facilities.[1] In 2019, practical training workshops equipped with modern technical equipment were established to improve the quality of graduate preparation.[1] Since 2013, NATT's structure has included a Professional Qualifications Center, offering continuing education programs in 14 fields of study.[1] In 2021, Regional Educational and Methodological Association No. 7 began operating on the college's premises, providing training across 5 consolidated groups of occupations and specializations.[1] Since 2020, regional "Young Professionals" championships in the "Auto Body Repair" competency have been held at the college.[1]
As of 2025, NATT offers 9 educational programs in full-time and part-time formats, including programs in Logistics Operations (38.02.03), Transportation Organization and Management (by mode) (23.02.01), Trade (38.02.08), and others.[1] Total enrollment stands at 86 students; 450 state-funded places and 90 fee-paying places are available, with tuition starting at 42,500 rubles per year.[1] The institution ranks 362nd in the national college rankings.[1] Students are provided with dormitory accommodation and scholarships; first-time full-time enrollees are eligible for military service deferment.[1]
State license No. Л035-01281-52/00278747 was issued on an indefinite basis on 27 April 2015; state accreditation No. А007-01281-52/01138206 has been in effect since 15 February 2021.[1]
Administration and Teaching Staff
Since 1987, the college has been headed by Gennadiy Aleksandrovich Isayev (born 16 April 1948), a graduate of the Gorky Polytechnic Institute named after Zhdanov with a degree in mechanical engineering.[2] The college's faculty includes holders of the title "Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation": Elena Kronidovna Hetaguri (mathematics instructor, born 11 November 1949) and Irina Alexandrovna Khlynova (engineering graphics instructor, at the college since 1973).[2] The position of department head was held by Maria Konstantinovna Goryanskaya (born 18 December 1936).[2]
Partners and Notable Alumni
Among the college's alumni is Vladimir Mikhailovich Reshetilov, who graduated in 1965 with a qualification in mechanical engineering technology.[2]
The Nizhny Novgorod Promavto special-purpose vehicle plant (7a Zaovrazhnaya Street, Nizhny Novgorod) maintains a cooperative relationship with the college: an NATT delegation visited the plant, after which both parties announced the start of a new phase of partnership.[3]
Student Life and Extracurricular Activities
The college holds annual military training camps, sports competitions, quests, and creative and themed events.[1] Environmental and volunteer initiatives, as well as museum and historical research activities, are actively developed. The student club "Vozrozhdeniye" (Revival) has repeatedly won national rallies of patriotic associations.[1] The college operates a student sports club "LADA".[2] The college museum carries out educational tours and outreach activities, including for preschool-age children.[2]
