nap.innov.ru was the website of the Nizhny Novgorod Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (NAPP), a public association of Nizhny Novgorod enterprises with the Nizhny Novgorod telephone code 8312[3]. The site was listed in the nn.ru directory (the /rub/ section)[1]; the earliest surviving web archive snapshot is dated November 1999[1], and the latest is from June 2008[3].

What organization stood behind the site

The home page stated that "the Nizhny Novgorod Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (NAPP) was founded in 1989 on a voluntary and equal-rights basis to coordinate the entrepreneurial activity of enterprises and to protect their economic interests"[1]. In 1999, according to the home page, NAPP had 98 members — industrial enterprises, banks, business entities, institutions of higher education, supply organizations, insurance companies, pension funds, and district and sectoral organizations — and the association as a whole united 358 legal entities that, by its own account, produced about 80% of the region's marketable output[1]. By 2008 the number of members listed on the home page had grown to 144 enterprises, while the wording about 358 legal entities and 80% of the region's marketable output remained unchanged[3].

What the site looked like and what it offered

The site's structure stayed nearly unchanged over the years: a menu of sections — "Contents," "About NAPP," "Enterprises," "News," "Programs," "Production," "Retekh-99NN," "Exhibitions," "Contact"[1]; by 2008 the "Retekh-99NN" section had been replaced with "Personnel"[3]. At the bottom of the page was a credit to the developer — the "Volga-Vyatka branch of the Higher School Innovation Center" in 1999[1], while by 2002 and 2008 the copyright line had changed to the "Volga-Vyatka branch of RGUITP"[2][3]. In 2008 a news block appeared on the home page: the site reported on the opening in the region of an "innovation business incubator" — a state institution established by the Ministry for Support of Small Entrepreneurship as part of the regional target program for the development of small entrepreneurship in the Nizhny Novgorod region for 2006–2010, with the address 22 Larina Street, Nizhny Novgorod, phone and fax (8312) 75-80-20, and the email nibi@pochta.ru[3]. Alongside it was NAPP's own contact phone number — (8312) 30-54-65[3]. According to the home page, following the first selection round for the business incubator in early February 2007, four companies were chosen, and NAPP took part in reviewing competition entries on an ongoing basis[3]. No visitor counters or votes for the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day appear on the site's pages in the surviving snapshots.

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

The site was known as a resource from the nn.ru directory[1], but it does not appear in the surviving samples of the Counter.nn.ru rating or in the votes of Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day — no visitor or voting data for it is recorded in our data. This does not mean the site had no counter at all: it only means the site's trace has not survived in the Archival study of the Nizhny Novgorod internet from the counter.nn.ru rating.

How the site closed
