nfs.r52.ru was the site of the Nizhny Novgorod company OOO "NFS" (Nizhegorodskfermservice), which manufactured metal structures: trading kiosks and pavilions, site cabins, block containers, and hangars. As the home page stated, the firm "has been working in the Nizhny Novgorod market since 1990"[1]. The site sat in the Nizhny Novgorod domain zone r52.ru; web archive snapshots cover it from December 4, 2001 to October 29, 2012[2]. In the nn.ru catalog directory, from which the site made it into our census, the firm is listed as "Nizhegorodskfermerservice", whereas the site's own title gave a shorter spelling — "Nizhegorodskfermservice"[1].
What the company did
The firm named the production of various metal structures as its priority area and listed its output: trading kiosks, trading pavilions, trading complexes, bus-stop shelters, mobile buildings on chassis, site cabins for various purposes, guard posts, block containers for cellular-communication equipment, diesel-generator sets and gas boiler houses, arched and tent-type hangars, sewage-treatment complexes, water-treatment facilities, car-service stations and car washes[1].
The home page separately noted a shift in demand: as it put it, "recently standard metal structures were especially popular, but now custom ones prevail", and for custom orders the firm worked "in close cooperation with licensed architectural studios"[1]. The company described its work as a full cycle — from discussing the idea and agreeing on details to drafting the technical specification, laying out trade equipment on the customer's premises, manufacturing, transportation, and installation[1].
Among its clients the home page named OOO "Volgotransgaz", OAO "Rospechat", OOO "Finansovaya lesnaya kompaniya" (Financial Forestry Company), OOO "Tyumentransgaz" and OOO "NadymDorStroy"; the delivery geography, according to the site, extended far beyond the region — its products could reportedly be found on the streets of Kazan, Yelabuga, Almetyevsk, and Ivanovo[1].
What remains of the site
The surviving text of the home page is built as simply as possible: a header with the firm's name and the section label ("Nizhegorodskfermservice / About the company"), a single page of continuous description, and the signature "© OOO 'NFS'" at the bottom[1]. No postal address, phone number, or visit-counter marks remain in the saved text snapshot of the home page[1]. Judging by this snapshot, the site was a business card for the production facility rather than a product catalog with prices: the list of goods was given as lines of text, not as items with photographs.
Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet
The site belongs to the mass layer of corporate "business-card" sites of Nizhny Novgorod enterprises that settled in the r52.ru domain zone in the early 2000s and were listed in the trade sections of local directories (see Nizhny Novgorod Internet). Nfs.r52.ru did not take a notable place in the measured part of that internet: it does not appear in the surviving samples of the Counter.nn.ru counter, nor is it in our Archival study of the Nizhny Novgorod internet from the counter.nn.ru rating. It is also absent from the final voting table of the 2004 Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day, although its neighbors in the r52.ru zone are listed there[3].
How it closed
The web archive preserved around three dozen accesses to the home page, but only one full text snapshot survives among them — from October 28, 2011[1]. The last snapshot in the web archive is dated October 29, 2012[2]; no later copies of the home page exist in the archive. At the time this census was compiled, the domain nfs.r52.ru no longer existed, and no successor or move to another address is recorded in our data.
