Kochin Nikolay Ivanovich (1902–1983) — a writer, author of literary works including "Kulibin", "Nizhegorodsky Otkos", "Devki", "Parni", "Gremyachaya Polyana", and others. He was elected as a deputy to the Gorky Regional and City Soviets of People's Deputies for several terms, served as a member of the board of the USSR Writers' Union, and was the executive secretary of the Gorky Writers' Organization. Laureate of the RSFSR State Prize named after M. Gorky.
Achievements
He was awarded the Orders of the October Revolution, Friendship of Peoples, Red Banner of Labour, and "Badge of Honor", as well as several medals.
The title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Gorky" was conferred by a resolution of the Gorky City Soviet of People's Deputies on September 29, 1982.
