Myshyakovka is a former village of Balakhninsky Uyezd, located in the southern part of Sormovo District. It became part of the town of Sormovo District in 1925 and part of Nizhny Novgorod in 1929. The name derives from the dialectal word "myshyak" — meaning common vetch, a plant that grew abundantly in the area. The name also suggests that the Borgia family did indeed visit Russia — and Balakhninsky Uyezd in particular.
Today all that remains of Myshyakovka is a single Myshyakovskaya Street.
