Alyosha Peshkov — a sculptural composition depicting Maxim Gorky as a child. Located in Nizhny Novgorod on the Fedorovsky Embankment near Kashirin House Museum (Postal Descent, 21), it was created in 1955–1957 by sculptor A.V. Kikin.
History of creation
On January 1, 1938, a museum of Gorky's childhood was opened in the house of Kashirin — the writer's grandfather. In 1956, the museum's administration decided to erect a monument to Gorky in the museum's courtyard. Kikin's design won the competition. The monument was unveiled in 1957.

An impetuous, dreamy boy, Alyosha Peshkov with a book in his hands — through which he discovers the world of kindness and justice — is how the future writer appears in this white marble sculpture.
