logvanov.r52.ru is an address in the Nizhny Novgorod domain zone r52.ru, where from 2001 until at least the early 2010s the site of the design studio and advertising-marketing company "Lemon" operated. The Nizhny Novgorod affiliation is visible from the home page itself: the header read "Nizhny Novgorod," the tagline read "Design and marketing in Nizhny Novgorod," and the footer listed the phone numbers (831) 412-30-34 and 436-38-56[1]. In the nn.ru directory the address was listed under a different name — "Creativity in Advertising" — and described as the site of the Logvanov family, dedicated to their creative work in advertising: "Andrei comes up with ideas, Natasha draws"[3]. The personal domain name and the family directory entry sit alongside the agency's corporate site: the surviving snapshot already belongs to the company.
What the home page looked like
A 2012 snapshot shows a one-page business card site with a horizontal menu of six sections: "about us," "services," "price list," "order," "contacts," "news"[1]. Below the menu was an advertising slogan: as the home page put it, "Advertising from the agency 'Lemon' — sour faces for your competitors!"[1]
The left column held a long list of service links, laid out almost like a search query: corporate identity, logo and emblem, labels and packaging, names and naming, website creation and design, marketing and research, advertising slogans, signage and outdoor advertising, transport advertising, characters and mascots, books, catalogs, covers, calendars and printing, articles and texts about advertising, portraits and paintings, design sketches, awards, portfolio, illustrations, postcards and valentines[1]. At the bottom of the page a second block of the same kind of links repeated — "Design prices," "Order a name," "Develop a website," "Come up with a trademark," "Marketing research," "Advertising in Nizhny Novgorod" — and a service line confirming rights in Google (google-site-verification) had made it into the page text, remaining visible in the archived copy[1]. The copyright mark in the footer was dated 2005[1].
What the agency offered
By its own description, the company "Lemon" was founded in 2000 as an agency providing design and marketing services; its founders held higher education in marketing and design and had ten years of experience in the advertising market, and the staff, as the home page stated, included designers, marketers, copywriters, photographers, and programmers[1]. Over the years the agency credited itself with more than a hundred advertising and marketing projects[1].
The scope of competence was listed in detail: branding and trademark development, naming and copywriting, corporate and brand identity, graphic design and printing, outdoor advertising and signage, website creation and web design with optimization and promotion, marketing research and consulting, advertising campaigns with media planning, publishing services and book illustration[1].
A separate block listed clients — in effect a cross-section of Nizhny Novgorod business in the first half of the 2000s: the "Elektronika" group of companies and its chain of branded stores, the "Rommel" furniture factory, the printing houses "RIDO" and "Pechatny Mir," the Sormovo confectionery factory, JSC "Vinagroprom," the "Stolitsa Nizhny" group of companies, NBD Bank, the Nizhny Novgorod city administration, the company "Altex," the "Volga" brewery, JSC "Volzhsky Khleb," the "Etazhi" shopping center, the "Narodny" trading house, the "Novy Vek" supermarkets, the "Zolotaya Milya" shopping and entertainment center, the "Bali" beauty salon, LLC NVK "BIOS," "Nizhegorodptitsa-NN," "Nizhegorodryba+," as well as JSC "Kommash" from Arzamas and the "Chaika" hotel from Dzerzhinsk; among out-of-town clients named are the Moscow publishing houses "Khatber" and "Otkrytaya Planeta" and the company "Kvartstroy"[1].
The company backed up its professionalism with diplomas and awards from regional and national contests, calling itself a laureate of the "WEB-Dizayn-NN" contest of 2001, the "Zolotnik" of 2004, and the "Sbrendi" of 2005[1]. The first of these awards is telling: the agency already considered web design its own territory at a time when Nizhny Novgorod Internet was only just taking shape.
Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet
The site was included in the sample of the Counter.nn.ru rating, where its figure was 372[3]. The site was not a major portal, but it did register with the Nizhny Novgorod counter — already an achievement for a corporate business-card site that had invested in search optimization. For more on the sample and methodology, see the Archival study of the Nizhny Novgorod internet from the counter.nn.ru rating.
In the surviving results table of the voting for Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day for 2004, neither the domain logvanov.r52.ru nor the name "Lemon" appears[2]. No votes for it are recorded in our data[3].
How it closed
The Wayback Machine's first capture of the address is dated March 31, 2001, and the last snapshot of the home page is dated June 25, 2021; in total, the Wayback Machine index for this address contains around eighty records[4][3]. At the time the corpus was surveyed the address did not respond and was classified as dead[3]. No information about the agency moving to another domain or closing down is recorded in our data: all that remains of the site is an archived copy of its business card with phone numbers and a client list.
