inteknn.ru — the site of the Nizhny Novgorod computer company Intek-NN, which operated in Nizhny Novgorod at 4 Oboznaya Street[2]. The catalogue name of the site was "Intek-NN — your supplier of new technologies!"[5]. The firm presented itself as a systems integrator and a supplier of equipment: "system integration, IT outsourcing, servers, office equipment, licensed software, structured cabling systems (SCS)" — that, as the home page reported, was how the site's heading read[2]. By the company's own account, it had been working on the computer market since 1993[4]. The snapshots of the site in the web archive cover the period from 2003 to 2020.

The first snapshots and the layout of the site

The earliest archived snapshot is dated 27 October 2003, but it contains no content: the page is headed "New Page 5" and consists of a service message saying that the site is built on frames, which the browser does not support[1]. In all, about eighty captures of the address have accumulated in the web archive[1].

The full version of the site can be seen in the snapshots of the mid-2010s. The home page was divided into a column of company news, a feed of new products, an "advanced search" form for the catalogue, a contact block and a "site map"[2]. The contact block gave the address "N. Novgorod, 4 Oboznaya St.", a "Directions" link and four city telephone numbers: (831) 433-70-08, 433-70-29, 437-00-37 and 437-05-33[2].

A separate block on the home page advertised "the company's new line of business — IT outsourcing": a Microsoft-certified specialist undertook to design, build, configure and maintain Microsoft Windows networks, to eliminate errors and to restore Active Directory and domain controllers[2]. The product feed was a selection of notes about new arrivals typical of the era: the COUGAR Solution case, the Cooler Master X6 and X6 Elite coolers, LG home cinema systems, LG cinema 3D SMART TV televisions, the Xerox Phaser 6700 printer, the teXet TB-840HD tablet[2]. All of its entries are dated January 2012.

A site that stopped in 2012

The firm's topmost news item was "On the outdatedness of the information on our site", of 20 August 2012[2]. The previous entry, of 5 June 2012, congratulated clients and partners on the company's nineteenth anniversary: "On 9 June 2012 our company turns 19"[2]. After that the feed was never added to: the snapshots of February 2015 and January 2016 coincide word for word, including both news items of 2012[3]. For three and a half years the site stood frozen, and the only thing that remained alive was the "footer" line of cross-links: in 2015 it carried links to the studio "Web Mekhanika" (Web Mechanics), Thai massage and an online casino[2], and by 2016 the casino had been replaced by "purchase of used cartridges"[3] — a characteristic trace of the link trade that used to settle on abandoned corporate sites.

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

In our sample of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet the Intek-NN site is listed through the rolls of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day of 2004[5]. It did not become a notable participant in the competition: no votes for it are recorded in the published voting results, and the site has no line of its own in the Counter.nn.ru rating either[5]. This was the usual position of a corporate site of that time: it existed not for the sake of traffic and votes, but as a calling card with a price list and telephone numbers for customers the company already had. The last version and the closure

By 2020 a different site was already opening at the address — with the title "Home : Intek-NN, Nizhny Novgorod" and the header "Intek-NN — supplier of new technologies"[4]. The former four numbers were replaced by a single one — (831) 4-222-887 — and a "Request a call back" button[4]. The menu consisted of the sections "About the company", "Legrand sale", "Services and servicing", "Price list for services", "Repair of computer equipment", "Refilling and reconditioning of cartridges", "Repair and maintenance of office equipment", "Certificates", "Industrial equipment", "Our projects", "Our suppliers" and "Contacts"[4].

By this time the company's profile had shifted from the sale of equipment towards servicing and industrial equipment: besides selling and repairing laptops and building computers to order, the firm repaired printers, multifunction devices, plotters and engineering systems, and since 2004, as the "About the company" section stated, it had been engaged in the repair and modernisation of CNC machine tools at large industrial enterprises and in the supply of components for them[4]. The same section gave a list of clients, almost entirely from Nizhny Novgorod: the furniture factory "Yuta", the joint-stock company Krasnoye Sormovo Plant, the Nizhny Novgorod joint-stock company "Gidromash", the federal budgetary institution "Volga Basin Administration", the joint-stock company "Lazurit" Central Design Bureau, the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, "BCR Motors", "Evan", the construction directorate "Volgaorgenergogaz", the Nizhny Novgorod Bureau of Automation[4]. The product catalogue had by that moment grown far beyond the computer subject — from uninterruptible power supplies, servers and storage systems to stationery, furniture, sports equipment and foodstuffs[4].

The last snapshot of the site in the web archive is dated 5 August 2020[4]; at the time of our check the address inteknn.ru did not respond with a working site.
