perevozki-nn.narod.ru was a free page on the "Narod.Ru" hosting service, a dispatch site for private freight-hauling transport called "Freight hauling from Nizhny" (Gruzoperevozki iz Nizhnego). The nn.ru directory described the site as follows: "If you want to transport something from Nizhny Novgorod to any point in Russia and the CIS (including within the city), click here!" The first snapshot preserved in the web archive is dated 28 July 2002, the last — 24 December 2012[1][3].
What the site looked like and what it offered
The site was a single announcement page with no menu sections. As the home page stated in 2002, "You have landed on a site where you can find out how, and for how much, you can transport three tonnes of onions (or something else), without owning a truck"[1]. The service was aimed "mainly at residents of Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast" and offered cargo transport of 0 to 25 tonnes by calling the dispatcher[1].
The 2002 price list itemized vehicles from a "Gazelle" van to a Euro-trailer truck: "Gazelle" (up to 1.5 t) — 110 rubles/hour with a 4-hour minimum and 3.30–3.50 rubles/km; GAZ-3307 (up to 4.5 t) — 130–150 rubles/hour, 4.30–4.50 rubles/km; ZIL "Bychok" (up to 3 t) — 4.40–4.60 rubles/km; ZIL (5–7 t) — 5.50 rubles/km; KamAZ (up to 10 t) — 250–280 rubles/hour, 7 rubles/km; heavy vehicles ("Super-MAZ," KamAZ, Volvo, Scania, MAN, 20–25 t) — 350–380 rubles/hour, 10–14 rubles/km[1]. For contact, a landline with the city code (8312) 30-09-20 and a mobile number 8-290-69-828 were listed, ask for Dmitry; the page was signed by a certain "Karas" ("Catfish"): "with this, Karas has put his paw to it"[1].
By May 2004 the rates had risen: the "Gazelle" was now 150 rubles/hour and 4.30–4.50 rubles/km, the GAZ-3307 — 170 rubles/hour and 5.00 rubles/km, the KamAZ (up to 10 t) — 330–350 rubles/hour and 8 rubles/km, heavy vehicles — 450 rubles/hour and 12–14 rubles/km[2]. The phone numbers changed to 30-09-20 and 28-12-17, and a pager number was added, 30-30-30, subscriber 40118 — a sign of the era when pager service was still a working channel for a dispatch service[2].
Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet
The site was listed in the nn.ru directory under its categories section (/rub/)[1] — that is, it was part of the reference layer of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet of the early 2000s as one of the few commercial pages for private freight hauling. There is no data in our sample on the site's participation in the Counter.nn.ru rating or in the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day votes.
How it closed
The last known snapshot was taken by the web archive on 24 December 2012. By that time the page had noticeably simplified: the detailed price list was gone, leaving only a list of vehicle types with no figures, and the wording of the offer had drifted slightly — "you can find out how, and for how much, you can [transport] any cargo any distance" (typo preserved as-is)[3]. The contacts had also changed: phone numbers 900-389 and 63-85-09, mobile numbers 8-901-800-85-09 and 8-901-800-28-39, and the dispatcher line still invited callers to "ask for Dmitry or Elena"[3]. There are no later snapshots in our set, and the material contains no other information on the domain's fate.
