farmas.r52.ru was the website of a Nizhny Novgorod pharmaceutical firm, OOO Farmassotsiatsiya ("Pharma Association"), which existed in the regional r52.ru domain zone in the first half of the 2000s. The company, as its home page stated, worked "on the Nizhny Novgorod pharmaceutical market," called itself one of the region's leaders in hospital supplies, and was developing a network of retail pharmacies[1]. Judging by the surviving snapshots, the site was limited to a single business-card page with an "About the company" section, whose text did not change between 2001 and 2003[3].

What the site looked like

All surviving snapshots of the home page contain the same text: the heading "Farmassotsiatsiya," a single "About the company" section, and four paragraphs about the firm's activities[1][2]. The surviving page text contains no address, no phone number, and no price list. It ended with the slogan "Your health is in reliable hands!"[1]

Below that stood a copyright notice, "© 2000 OOO 'Farmassotsiatsiya'," and a credit for the contractor — "Web design by Teamoty Brane Inc."[1] In the surviving snapshot from June 2003, the page has search-engine keywords listed: "oncology, vaccines, flu, hepatitis B, pharmacy, medicines, antibiotics"[3].

What the company said about itself

OOO Farmassotsiatsiya called itself a distributor for leading pharmaceutical manufacturers and listed them under the spellings then in use: Bristol-Myers Squibb, Glaxo Wellcome, MSD, Novartis, Roche, Aventis[1]. The firm called itself "one of the region's leaders in hospital supplies" and reported that it was simultaneously developing a network of retail pharmacies, including social ones. The page named oncology drugs and antibiotics as its defining line of business[1].

The Nizhny Novgorod connection was stated directly: according to the page, the firm employed medical and sales representatives "who actively cooperate with doctors at Nizhny Novgorod hospitals and clinics"[1]. A new line of business was mentioned separately — vaccine sales: Farmassotsiatsiya had taken part in a school hepatitis B prevention programme in spring 2000 and planned to continue with participation in flu prevention[2].

The copyright notice dated the text to 2000, and the text itself claimed the company had been working on the Nizhny Novgorod pharmaceutical market for six years[1] — meaning the firm counted its history from around 1994. In both later surviving snapshots this phrase remained unchanged: in June 2003 the page still spoke of six years of work and of the spring 2000 school programme[3].

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

The site entered our census from the nn.ru directory's category listing, where the Farmassotsiatsiya card stood among pharmacies and pharmaceutical firms marked "Rating: none." The address does not appear in the surviving samples of the Counter.nn.ru rating, and its traffic is unknown; it is likewise absent from the surviving final results table of the 2004 Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day vote[4]. How it closed

The address is recorded in the Wayback Machine only fourteen times, and the snapshots containing the site's actual content fall within the period from March 2001 to June 2003[5]. According to our check, from 2004 the address served not the company's page but a domain-parking placeholder; the last snapshot in the Wayback Machine is dated 20 April 2005[5]. As of this census, the domain farmas.r52.ru does not exist, and no successor to the site has been found.
