Faizkhanov Research Institute, Nizhny Novgorod Islamic Institute (NII) named after Kh. Faizkhanov — a non-state educational institution of higher professional education. Registered in 2005.

Nature of the institution

The NII named after Kh. Faizkhanov belongs to the centralized religious organization DUMNO). The founders of the NII are DUMNO and the Regional National-Cultural Autonomy of Tatars of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The rector of the NII is Damir Mukhetdinov.

Background

In April 2004, the NII received a grant of 358 thousand dollars from the Islamic Development Bank for the construction of the institute.

The NII is currently in the process of being established. The full-time division of the NII is planned to include departments of pedagogy, philology, and theology.

The NII will implement a multi-level system of higher professional education in accordance with the state educational standard of the Russian Federation: bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate programs. The duration of study in the general preparatory class at the first level will be 4 years, and 2 years each for the master's and postgraduate programs.

A separate building for the NII is planned to be constructed in the Avtozavodsky District of N. Novgorod, adjacent to the Tauba mosque.

The NII currently operates as a research institute, serves as an organizer of academic conferences, and participates in publishing and educational projects.
