Dukhovny, Yefim Yevseyevich (1912–2001) — retired Major General of Tank Forces, veteran of the Finnish War and the The Great Patriotic War. During the war he organized in The City of Gorky and subsequently commanded the 169th Separate Tank Battalion and the 196th Tank Brigade. From 1965 to 1972 he served as Regional Military Commissar; from 1973 to 1993 he was chairman of the scientific and methodological council of the Znaniye organization.
Achievements
Awarded three Orders of the Red Banner, two Orders of Kutuzov 2nd Class, the Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class, the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Labor Red Banner, and various medals.
The title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Nizhny Novgorod" was conferred by resolution of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod dated July 7, 1994, No. 11.
