Dobrolyubova Street (formerly Mironosickaya) — curves in a gentle arc from Ilyinskaya Street to Bolshaya Pokrovskaya.
It is located in Zapochaine (Nizhegorodsky District of Nizhny Novgorod), near the Church of the Myrrhbearers. It was planned as a continuation of Osypnaya Street according to the plans of 1799, 1804, and 1824. However, its building lines were not definitively established until the city plan of 1839: the short street began at Lykova Dam and was cut through to Ilyinskaya Street. A square was intended to be laid out near the Church of the Myrrhbearers. The first stone structure on it was the house of S. Pyatov. Yet right up to the end of the 19th century the street itself remained winding. Only under the 1881 plan of N. Novgorod was it straightened into a direct line and began to be built up towards Ilyinskaya Street strictly along the building lines, predominantly with stone houses. The street was originally called Mironosickaya after the church of the same name located here, and was later renamed in honor of Dobrolyubov.
Dobrolyubov Nikolay Aleksandrovich (1836–1861) — Russian literary critic, poet, and revolutionary democrat. He was born in Nizhny Novgorod. Dobrolyubov spent his childhood and youth at house no. 2 on Oktyabrskaya Street. A museum has been opened in the house.
