dvd-nnov.narod.ru — a Nizhny Novgorod Internet shop "DVD-nnov" that sold DVD discs "with delivery across Nizhny Novgorod and Russia"[1]. The site was listed in the nn.ru directory, in the /rub/ section[1], and existed under its own domain from March 2003[3] until an announcement of relocation, recorded by the archive in 2006-2007[2].

What the site offered

The home page carried navigation standard for a site of that era: "Home", "New releases", "Site map", "DVD discs", "Place an order", "Price list", "Delivery across Russia", "FAQ", "Guest book", "E-mail", "Add to favorites", "Set as home page"[1]. As the home page stated, the shop offered "some of the lowest prices for DVD discs in the city" and free delivery within Nizhny Novgorod for orders of three or more discs[1]; the full assortment — over a thousand titles — was posted separately as a price list in Excel or zip-archive format[3]. Prices depended on order volume: in the summer of 2003 the minimum tier (1-10 discs) cost 150 rubles, while orders of 101 discs or more were priced by negotiation; one-off promotions also ran — down to 90 rubles per disc when buying out the entire assortment[1]. All discs were advertised as multi-region (1-6), with Russian translation and subtitles, and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround or DTS sound[1]. Orders were placed through a form on the site or by letter stating name, phone number, and delivery address in Nizhny Novgorod, with payment in cash to the courier on delivery[1]. The site design was credited "Copyright and design by Marcus", and the page recommended a screen resolution of 1024x768 — a typical marker of the Russian internet of the mid-2000s[1].

According to Counter.nn.ru, the site had a recorded rating of 13.0[3]; no votes for it are recorded in our samples for the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day of 2004 — this reflects an absence of data in the surviving sample, not zero support for the site. How the site closed

By August 2006 the home page no longer showed the shop: in its place stood an announcement, "The site www.dvd-nnov.narod.ru has moved to a new location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! New address www.dvdnn.ru," as the home page stated, with an automatic redirect after five seconds[2]. The same relocation announcement pointing to www.dvdnn.ru is recorded again in the spring of 2007[4]. The fate of the new address, dvdnn.ru, is not traced in our records — the last snapshot in the web archive on file is dated June 15, 2007[4].
