Brief History

The center was formerly known as the "Nizhegorodets SAMBO Wrestling Club."

It has been operating for 25 years under the direction of Ivan Kharitonovich Dudnik, a top-category instructor in JUDO and SAMBO who previously worked at the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Council of "Dynamo."

Goals and Objectives of the "Nizhegorodets" Children's Sports and Wellness Center

  • Moral, ethical, and physical development of the individual; health improvement for children and teenagers of Nizhny Novgorod; instruction in martial arts techniques and self-defense; development of logical and quick thinking, strength, agility, endurance, and flexibility;
  • promotion of these martial arts disciplines in the region, and keeping teenagers off the streets and away from harmful habits.

Center Operations

The initial training stage for children aged 6 to 7 consists of general physical conditioning, including exercises targeting all muscle groups, speed of thinking, coordination, flexibility, mobility, endurance, and strength, as well as acrobatics, active games, motor skills development, and instruction in breakfall techniques on the tatami. Discipline is also instilled from the outset.
