The complex of buildings of the gubernatorial zemstvo council is a group of structures from the second half of the 19th century in the Historic Center of Nizhny Novgorod, located along Minina Street. The buildings are cultural heritage sites of regional significance.[1]
Composition and History
The main building of the complex is considered to be building no. 18/3 on Minin Street, erected in the second half of the 19th century. It was this building that directly housed the Nizhny Novgorod gubernatorial zemstvo council.[1]
Current State
In 2020, building no. 18/3 on Minin Street was included in a list of seven apartment buildings — cultural heritage sites of the Historic Center — slated for restoration ahead of the city's Celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Founding of Nizhny Novgorod in 2021. A total of 12.93 million rubles was allocated from the The 2015 Budget of the Nizhny Novgorod Region for the repair of the facades and roofs of all seven buildings.[1]
From 1892 to 1893, Alexey Maksimovich Gorky lived in this building.[2]
